This project is about helping youth workers to develop long-term sustainable youth work programmes directed towards developing the competencies, young people need for active participation and citizenship in society.

Details:
The course is intended for 30 individuals working with young people in a professional capacity on a paid or voluntary basis (e.g. youth workers, youth leaders, community and social workers)

Who:
•have experience in developing and managing directly a project with and for young people;
•have organised or co-organised at least one youth project with an international dimension;
•are committed and motivated to work directly with young people on issues related to European Citizenship;
•are supported by their organisation in their current and future work;
•have a general knowledge and understanding of youth and youth work realities in their contexts;
•are motivated to undergo training and able to attend the course for its full duration;
•are able to work in English.

Costs:
Participation fee: 50 euro
Travel and visa costs will be 70 % reimbursed.
Full board and accomodation are covered by the organisers.

The Plovdiv Chapter of the PTPI developed a work plan 2008-2013 which drows together the priorities in the action areas of youth policy and the demands we have towards decision- makers to reach equal oportunities and social participation for all children and youth.The action plan seeks to address issues of youth participation through better youth information, acquiring skills through volinteering and working in youth initiatives, promote the active citizenship of young people and structure the structured dialogue. In organizing this training we expect to develope the quality in European youth work and youth policy, to increase recognition of the non formal learning and european citizenship, to provide the participants with the needed competences, especially in the field of Non- formal lerning and the work with young people.
