Opšte informacije: The "Regional Summer School on Security Studies" organised by the "Institute for Democracy and Mediation-IDM" (Tirana, Albania) aims to present to the potential students a wide, and at the same time, particular approach to security studies. For this reason the IDM has gathered a team of international experts to offer this unique opportunity where the very idea of a summer school will match with the concept of workshop.
The lectures will cover the following topics:
-- Introduction to Security Studies and Human Security;
-- Research and Analysis in the Field of Security Studies;
-- Security in the Balkans;
-- EU Common Foreign and Security Policy;
-- Global Terrorism (UNITAR POCI Certificate);
-- Peacekeeping and International Conflict Resolution (UNITAR POCI Certificate).
The course is organised with morning and afternoon sessions, and the submission of a security project paper at the end of the course. Participants at the summers school will involve graduate (or last year graduate) and postgraduate students, researchers, practitioners and high officials of security sector institutions from the countries in the Balkan region and also students and researchers from other SEE countries. The constant interaction between students and lectures during the Summer School will permit the creation of a special environment of mutual and beneficial stimulating intellectual context.
