About MASN:
MASN was initiated by an international group of anthropology (social/cultural) and ethnology students in 2005. The network is functioning on two main levels. Through its *website* (www.movinganthropology.de), which includes more than 1300 students worldwide, providing space for discussion, and exchange of info. Secondly, MASN connects *undergraduate, MA, and PhD students through international conferences, where they can exchange their research experience and ideas face-to-face. Up to now, there have been five conferences organised (in Austria, Croatia, Poland, Germany, and Italy - upcoming in May 2008). MASN was created to constructively connect students of ethnology and anthropology, and others interested in its ways and topics, independently from institutional spheres and already established academic hierarchies.

About MASN Slovenia:
The conference is organised by students of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, through Organisation ŠKUC (www.skuc.org), and will be held at the Slovenian-Croatian border, in the smallest Slovenian municipality of Osilnica. Following the first three days (papers, workshops, roundtables), we will organise a short 2-day "fieldwork" on both sides of the border. On August 24th there will be bus transport organised to Ljubljana (the capital city), where we will have the opportunity to participate at the *EASA (European Association of Social Anthropologists) conference*, to be held in Ljubljana from August 26th - 30 th 2008 (for further information on EASA see www.easa2008.eu).
