The Master of Science in Civil Engineering has the aim of providing students with professional and scientific skills which are highly demanded and appreciated by both private companies and public institutions. The first year, common for all students, is characterised by core modules and aims at consolidating fundamentals and improving modelling capabilities in classical areas of Civil Engineering such as Solid and Structural Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics. The second year of the "General" course follows the same line, with emphasis on civil engineering applications. The second year of the "Civil Protection" course is designed to give a broad multidisciplinary foundation in the area of risk assessment, mitigation and emergency management.
This Course is taught in English, requires a full time attendance and involves classroom and laboratory activities.
As specified in the didactic regulations,120 credits are required to obtain the degree. It is possible to choose among 2 different specialties: "general" and "civil protection". For each specialty basic courses (mathematics, physics), at least 45 CFU for distinguishing courses (different for each specialty), at least 15 CFU for other activities and at least 15 CFU for the final exam and the possible final stage are foreseen.
